Robert Flowers honored for service at utilities district

Outgoing Columbia/Adair County Utilities Chairman Robert Flowers was presented a plaque by Tim Baker, who was elected chairman of the board at the Thu 12 Sep 2015 regular monthly meeting of the board. Flowers has served on utilities boards, starting with the old Columbia Utilities Commission, for a total of 20 years. From left: CAUD General Manager Lenny Stone, Commissioner David Jones, (Flowers), Commissioner Barry Stotts, (Baker), Commissioner Larry Russell Bryant, and CAUD Board Attorney Marshall Loy. Newly appointed Commissioner Mike Newton, Plant Operations Manager of Lindsey Wilson College, will join the board to replace Flowers. At the meeting, GM Lenny Stone announced that the merger of the utilities is complete.
