Columbia City Council Meeting, 1 Dec 2014

2014-12-02 - 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Jenna Pace, standing, of the accounting firm of Campbell, Myers, and Rutledge, is shown above reviewing the City of Columbia's financial audit for Fiscal Year 2013/14 at the Columbia City Council regular December 1, 2014 meeting. Pace alternated with Campbell, Myers, & Rutledge's Brent Billingsley. The report noted that the deficits for the past three years have held steady, at just under $300,000 a year. They also noted that Columbia's finances relative to the insurance premium tax have reflected that of other cities they examine, but that Columbia differs from most other cities in having losses in governmental operations where most others have surpluses, and Columbia's business activities - Sanitation, Gas Department - operate with a surplus, whereas other cities have tended to have deficits in this area. Clockwise from left are Councillors Ron Rogers, Charles Grimsley, and June Parson; City Clerk Rhonda Loy, Mayor Mark D. Harris, City Attorney Marshall Loy; City Councillors Linda Waggener and Robert Flowers, and Pace.
