KY Economic Development officials in Columbia, KY

2014-10-28 - Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com. Those who attended the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development meeting, Wed 21 Oct 2014, remember that Megan Roe and Mitch Ruscitti of the Kentucky Department of Economic Development gave the group an update on an innovation to attact new employers: Instead of building costly spec buildings which may not meet the requirements of the next prospect, the state of Kentucky is encouraging communities to have "building ready sites," available for new employers to acquire and shorten the time it takes to be in business. The accompanying story announces that Henderson, KY, is the first community in Kentucky to have a building ready site. The idea was met with enthusiasm by Board Chair Dan Antle and others present including EDA members Randy Burns, Mark Dykes, Ann Martin, and Tony Corbin. - CM (c)
