Remembering Dr. DeSimone: He stood the test of time

2014-10-14 - Greensburg, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio.
Dr. DeSimone:
This picture of Dr. DeSimone was taken two years ago at a Jane Todd Crawford Hospital Christmas Party. It's hard to put into words what Dr. DeSimone has meant to South Central Kentucky. He was easily the most respected physician in 100 miles of here. He's a physician who has stood the test of time. He practiced as long as it was physically possible for him to do so - even from his wheelchair. And I remember how incredibly patriotic he was. I was interviewing him on the air soon after 9-1-1. It broke his heart to know that our country had been attack - and he couldn't hold back the tears. He wept, audibly on the air. He was a great man. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
