Birds of KY: George Rice spots 1st White Crane he's seen here



2014-10-06 - Knifley RD/Ky 551 at Egypt, KY - Photo by George Rice. White Crane - Found this beautiful bird on my pond as I was checking the cattle. Hurried to the house for my camera and returned to find him sitting in this tree. It is some type of crane. I don't remember ever seeing a white crane before as our native cranes are blue or dark color. I guess we will have to ask our nature expert Billy Joe Fudge to name it. George Rice.
