Procession carrying Capt. Tony Grider Home: The Moment

2014-09-21 - 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Everyone knew, even if the Supporting Heroes van had no markings noting its role that this van was carrying the earthly remains of Capt. Tony Grider home to Columbia. The only sounds to be heard as it passed was weeping, choked back tears, and, overhead, the faint sound of high flying news aircraft. The van made a well deserved victory lap for Capt. Grider around the Historic Square Capt. Grider so deeply loved, to return a few moments later to the spot where Grissom-Martin Funeral Home director Blake Martin is standing, above, at attention. - Ed Waggener SEE: Anthony Lynn (Tony) Grider, Adair Co., KY (1973-2014)
