D & D Longview at FM2 has lots of tomatoes today

2014-08-30 - Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Debbie Burris. This sorting shed photo was taken late Friday evening of the yellow and red slicing tomatoes Debbie & Danny Burris have at the Farmers Market on the Square, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, this morning, Saturday, August 30, 2014. The market is open 8am-1pmCT today. The market has tomatoes of extraordinary quality today. A note An Adair County scientist says that he's eaten tomatoes all over the world, and Adair County's may be the best anywhere. He eats tomatoes at his home in California, and says they are great. "But compared to the tomatoes here in Adair County, California's taste like cardboard." He maintains fewer than half a dozen tomato plants beside his deck at his Columbia home, which provide more than enough for large extended family when they are here - and a few to share with others. - CM
