A dramatic element in the Columbia skyline: The Columbia/Adair County Utilities District water tower at Lindsey Wilson College. It was scheduled for restoration, but delays in approving a grant at a time when company's were begging for work create an $800-$1,000,000 cost overrun leaving the Lindsey Wilson project a casualty of the improving economy. In the early morning and evening light the tower's problems show up more. (See: CAUD meeting report, August 14, 2014 details on decision to drop tower renovation)
