A Mixed Use Thoroughfare: Adair Veterans Bypass



2014-08-24 - Adair Veterans Memorial Bypass, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Early Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 was a great time in Columbia. It was the day of the most cornflower, ironweed and goldenrod was showing a lot of color, and out on the bypass, vehicular traffic shared the road with a runner, who was traveling into the traffic. It's still remembered that the bypass could have had a dedicated bike path, but the thinking back in those medieval days was, "We don't need that. We can build a place down on Russell Creek where they can ride their beyekes."
