As Basil Bouquet is worth the price, but we'll eat the whole bunch

2014-08-23 - FM2/Adair Annex parking lot, 424 Public Square - Photo by Ed Waggener. Fresh herbs are featured at the 'Coburg Mall' the Coview Farms/Lonely Acres booths operated by Caitlin Helm and her father, Darrell Bunnell. When I got home after spending just $20 and getting some mostly tomatoes, along with more tomatoes, green pepper, dangerous hot peppers Wayne Armitage sold me, and eggplant, the bouquet this bunch of basil commanded the most attention. Put it a vase for a center piece, rinse a leaf and ate, and all kinds of ideas for its use went through my mind, even without calling the family basil boffin, Pen, for proven recipes. And for just $1.50. The Farmers Market on the Square is open today, Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 8am-1pmCT, at the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
