New parking lot ramp at ACHS

2014-07-23 - ACHS, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia KY - Photo CM staff photo. A more versatile afternoon entry and exit pattern was created with this short ramp onto the Adair County High Parking lot, which doubles as primary parking for athletics events at ACHS Football Stadium and the Softball Field. The exit will primarily help with quicker exits and entries from the campus' northern most two access points via Indian Drive and Booster Drive onto the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass. The work is being done by Brockman Construction Co., on campus now for the demolition of John Adair Intermediate School and Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School. Superintendent Alan W. Reed said he hopes to have the ramp paved in the future, but noted that a soft rain on the gravel had helped to harden the surface, which was smoothed by traffic. - CM
