TaP's getting Open Tonight at the Adair County Fair

2014-07-04 - Adair Co. Fairground, 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo CM Staff Photo. Great local fair food will be available at the Adair County Fair, with TaP's, John Thomas, Jana Esch, and Re-run's BBQ the winning bidders or spots at the fair. In many year's vendors have to factor provisions for bad weather. This year, the weather outlook is great. Adair County Constable Shannon Rowe, a member of the Adair County Jaycees, above, watches as TaP's sets up a it's mobile food stand, complete with a picnic area, right, with tables and chairs. Tonight, they were open at 4pmCT, to serve food through the Family Fun Night and one of the biggest events in South Central Kentucky, the 9pmCT, Fireworks from the Fairground. With perfect weather, Rowe said he expects thousands to be on hand. "The stands and the infield will be packed," he said, "and every space on Lindsey Wilson will be too. Everybody loves the fireworks show." Rowe said that this year Dixieland Shows will start moving in rides tonight. "It will be their first time ever here, and their first ever show in Kentucky," he said. That's another first for Adair County. That's Chef Gary Crawford inside the food trailer. His wife, Tisha Paris, in the center of the photo, is walking over to watch the preparations for the two picnic tables. TaP's will be serving BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and their famous Burgers Your Way, along with soft drinks and more. During the fair they will be introducing a new walkabout food food item - a shish kabob, and will have Sno-Cones.
