Poke, Progress & Preservation at a Downtown Private Park 2014-06-24 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo CM Staff Photo. Beyond the pokeberries there's progress at the Christian Church Park, a three acre private sanctuary in sight of the Courthouse Clocktower. The new structure, just completed, houses restrooms. Work continues at the park, Richard Phelps, a church member, said. The parking lot will get a layer of concrete, ramped to be handicap accessible,he said. The larger green roofed structure is the picnic pavilion, which can accommodate gatherings of up to 120. Occasionally, Mr. Phelps said, non-member groups can reserve the park, but primarily it is for Columbia Christian Church activities. Permalink | Comments?
