FM2 - Flowers, familiar faces, and fine spring lamb

2014-05-24 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Adair County Deputy Jailer Catherine Burton is a familiar figure at the Farmers Market on the Square. She's gazing at some of the displays at the big Coview Farms/Lonely Acres Farm stalls, where flowers of all kinds are displayed in abundance. There are marigolds and petunias and nasturtiums and some beautiful hanging baskets of petunias, ideal for the not over sincere gardener who wants instant gratification with little responsibility than a daily watering and an occasional dead heading spruce up. Across the way, Mike Meyer was back with some of the best lamb, pork sausage, and beef one can find anywhere - and it's grown in Adair County. Lamb chops from Knifley are a special spring treat. - one we hope will be showing up on some restaurant menus here soon. The market is open until 1pmCT today. - ED WAGGENER
