CAUD Phase 14/Downtown Project: S Reed Street work

2014-05-07 - 200 Block, S Reed, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Stotts Construction Co., Columbia, KY is working in the 100 block of S Reed Street today, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 7am-5:30pmCT. Motorists are urged to avoid the area while construction is underway. Above, front, a skid steer loader blacktop planner is running ahead of a a large Kobelco trackhoe. The planer mills the asphalt to reuse as a hot mix to reseal the street after the new water main is laid. "Otherwise," company spokesperson Junior Stotts said, "we'd have to use cold patch, and it's a lot harder to get a smooth resurfacing job with it."
