Smith & Reed Aerial view: AC School District campus view



2014-04-21 - Greensburg ST & Indian Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. Larry Smith, FM 92.7 the WAVE, photographer, flying with pilot Alan Reed documented a transitional time the oldest section of the Adair County School District Campus. Using bright fan shaped dirt line in the ACHS baseball "Field of Dreams" as a pivot, at 9 o'clock there is the oval track around Booster Field, now the middle school football field. At 10:30 the biggest visual change will occur, when the large John Adair Intermediate School and Col. Wm Casey are razed and the ADAIR band gets is first very own practice fields. (See Adair County School Board Report, April 17, 2014, regular meeting report with diagram of proposed ADAIR Band practice fields). Also at 10:30, more distant, is the Page Street Water tower. At 1 o'clock, there's the oldest building on campus, the original Adair County High School Building (1954), now the Adair County Middle School. At 5 o'clock, entering at the bottom of the frame, is the meridional Indian Drive which intersects Greensburg Street in the lower left of the photo. The large road in the right of the frame is Hudson Street, dominated by the Franklin Family's founding dealership, Don Franklin Ford.
