Reed & Smith Aerial View, Lindsey Wilson Park 2014-04-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The WAVE 92.7. Easter weekend Saturday, April 19, 2014, there were surprisingly few cars on the Cumberland/Louie B. Nunn Parkway when Alan Reed flew into position for this shot. The aim was to get an aerial view of the Lindsey Wilson Sports Park - from the air it looks even larger than I had imagined. It reaches from its frontage on the parkway to its entrance on Russell Road and to another entrance on Gaston Avenue. The Blue Oval is the Track around the football field at Blue Raider Stadium. Next is Egnew Park, the Baseball Field, and the closest field is Lindsey Wilson Park, home of the Lindsey Wilson Softball team and will be, for the second year in a row, the site of the NATIONAL NAIA Baseball Park. The interchange is exit 49 - 49 miles from I-65. In the Distance at the top of the frame, left side, can be seen the KY 61/Burkesville Street-Road crossing at the Adair Veterans Memorial Bypass. Majestic Yachts plant can be seen at the southwest corner, and to the right of that point, the Bridge Point Residential Complex. Funny to take in this much Columbia territory with only one water tower, but there is just one, CAUD's Bomar Heights or Summit Manor onion storage tank.
