New ADAIR Band Practice Field will go on CWC, JAIS site 2014-04-18 - Adair County High School Campus - Photo of drawing by Gabe Jones. A preliminary sketch of the planned ADAIR Band practice fields for the Commonwealth's premier Marching Band Program, was presented at the Thursday, April 17, 2014, regular Adair County Board of Education meeting. For orientation, the Central Office is in the lower right hand corner. A grass practice field with truck/van access adjoining the band storage building should be ready by opening of school in the fall of 2014. Band parent Mike Talley, who manages the massive Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, will supervise the grass sowing and initial care. Superintendent Alan Reed reported that Talley is confident a good stand of grass will be ready by fall. Behind the grass practice field will be a paved practice field which may be only partially complete, utilizing existing pavement, at the start of school. The arrow from the bottom center of the frame indicates the existing Raymond Lacy Music Building. Reed said that savings in demolition costs for John Adair and Col. Wm. Case are coming in under budget, and will approximately finance the practice fields.
