This bronze statue of the city's patron Saint San Antonio de Padua--- depicted here holding baby Jesus was presented to the city right before the 1968 World's Fair from the Portuguese government and was created by Leopoldo de Almeida. Saint San Antioio de Padue is also the Catholic patron saint of the poor. It was a double celebration for the city since it was also the 250th anniversary of the city's creation. - Shamarie Claiborne
