A happy reunion after decades apart at Campbellsville U

2014-04-07 - Technology Traing Center, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
Pastor Siler and "Little Bird"
- The Church Relations Council of Campbellsville University held spring meetings last Thursday and Friday, April 3-4, 2014. Preston Siler, pastor of Thixton Lane Baptist Church in Louisville, enjoyed a reunion with Robbin Cox who works at CU now but was a child when he pastored her family's church, Mt. Roberts Baptist in Taylor County. Siler said in the early 1970s he called the eleven-year-old daughter of Calvin and Aileen Skaggs his "Little Bird" because of her name, Robbin. She's all grown up now and works in the Virginia Ponser Flanagan Technology Training Center at CU where break-out sessions of the Church Relations Council were held and where the two enjoyed their visit. Siler has been the pastor at Thixton, located on the border of Jefferson and Bullitt Counties, for over 20 years. He asked for a copy of the keepsake photo to share with his wife Rachael who works at UofL so she can see their "Little Bird" now. - Linda Waggener, Campbellsville University
