Last night 9 committed vendors for the 2014 Farmers Market on the Square attended the first of three pre-opening sessions. The first Farmers Market on the Square, held again this year at the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, parking lot, will be Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 8am-12pmCT. Jana Esch volunteered to be the entertainment booking agent. Barbara Armitage said the market has gained the interest of several new producers, mentioning one new one who will be selling locally ground and processed coffee, and another who will offer stained glass. The majority of the vendors will have garden vegetables and fruits, she said. Besides producers, the Farmers Market is hoping volunteers will help with set ups, be docents, and, among other things, act as "Walmart greeters," for the popular event.
