Chart: Kentucky Education Technology System Escrow Money

2014-02-21 - 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo chart by Carla Perkins. The Adair County School Board mostly through a $25,000 grant from Duo-County Telecom, was able to free up $54,460 for improvements in technology in the district. The board voted to spend $2,230 to make the match possible. The chart above, created by Technology Director Carla Perkins, shows the amounts of KETS matching grants escrowed since 2011 and the time limits for matches. Supt. Alan Reed said he is hoping that state funding will improve with actions from the current General Assembly, now in session, and that the utilization of the KETS funds can be accelerated. Barring that, should other benefactors in the private sector follow the example of Duo-County Telecom, the funds could become available through help from the private sector or other local government and/or special taxing districts, too.
