Scenic Marion Co., KY: Club 68 lives on



2014-02-21 - Marion Co., KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio. The old Club 68 sign is now owned by famed Lebanon, KY, trial lawyer and Democratic Party power and my very good friend, Elmer George. It's a treasured bit of history Mr. George preserved. You can see a hint of the sign in the linked photo. What a wonderful era for music in Kentucky. Hyleme George brought some might names to Lebanon, to his "Club Cherry" on Water Street and to "Club 68." Names like Ike and Tina Turner, and, on the marquee in the accompanying photo, Jerry Lee Lewis. - Larry Smith, FM 99.9, The Big Dawg. Paired photo.
