My name is Buddy Powell and I would like to introduce myself as a Republican Candidate for Jailer in Adair County. My family and I have always called Adair County home. My Grandpa, Curtis Powell, served two terms as jailer. My brother, Terry, and I have both graduated from Adair County High School, and I have lived and worked in this county most of my life. I am currently employed by Farmers Produce in Russell & Adair Counties as their Director of Public Relations and Marketing, but the hardest job that I have ever tackled is being a single parent; raising my teenage daughter, Brandi, in a community where we can feel safe is a priority to me, and I can't imagine raising her anywhere else. In October of 1994 I completed the Justice Cabinet Department of Corrections "Basic Academy Training" while employed at the North Point Correctional Center in Burgin, KY. If elected, I intend to keep all the current employees and to continue all the rehab and ministry programs currently in effect, and to aggressively seek all government grants and funding. I am not promising to save the world or to re-invent the wheel. My only promise is to be Fair to All! Everyone will be treated fairly and with respect.
