2014 CWC Home Tour: Magnolia House, Carson & Linda Lewis

2013-12-01 - 307 Merchant Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag.
Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast, Linda and Carson Lewis, 307 Merchant Street, Columbia, KY - The Jones family bought this lot from the town of Columbia in 1898. They built a house and in 1912 the house and lot were sold to H.A. Walker, Successive owners were Richardson, Harper, Jeffries, Phelps, Wethington, Tucker and Goodin until 2004 when Carson and Linda bought the house. They began the year long process of renovating both house and grounds into a bed and breakfast. In 2005 they had their first guests. Since then guests from many states and several countries have enjoyed staying in the Magnolia House in a choice of three comfortable decorated bedrooms. This Farmhouse Style house is a popular simple style found throughout the mid-Atlantic and southern United States having gables at the front and side. It is two stories tall with a similar floor plan upstairs and downstairs. Columbia Woman's Club members invite you to pause here for their holiday refreshments when touring Magnolia House hosted by Linda and Carson Lewis. - GEORGE KOLBENSCHLAG
