Coincidence matches Bev Merritt's donation to ACHS

2013-11-27 - Louisville, KY - Photo by CM contributing photographer.
A very special moment happened the night of the KMEA State Marching Band Championship. To say Beverly (Bev) Merritt was a fan of the Adair County Band program is a huge understatement. Even though she didn't have children of her own. she considered every child who put on the Adair uniform one of her own. In honor of Bev her family was one of the sponsors of the KMEA Marching Band Plaques and it just so happened to be the second place Class 3A Plaque. Adair was fortunate to win second place and in turn win the trophy that Bev's family had her name on. We all know she was so proud to be able to give that award to the band she loved so deeply. Her sister Carol Edwards and aunt Violia Fergerson presented the trophy to Ashley Simpson the field commander of the Adair County Band. It may have not been first place that we have all wanted but I can assure you that Bev's family were brought to tears of joy to be able to be apart of that moment. - from CM Contributing Photographer
