Scenic Adair Co., KY: Ready for the winter in Portlandia

2013-10-29 - Porland, Adair Co., KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. There's appears to be enough farwood laid on the porch of Poor Man's Country Corner, now in the new administration of Becky and Herbert Janes, and the ongoing tenure of "Cat," who came with the store, Becky Kessler said. It's the Central Building in the storied Village if Janeses, Kesslers, Downeys, Rogerses and Keltners, Bakers, Smiths, Beards and more. The Country Corner is now given over to almost all restaurant seating, and is open 6 days a week, Mrs. Kessler said. Mrs. Marcum, whom cats adore, told Cat it was the prettiest cat she'd ever seen, praise which Cat, right pleased with itself, seemed to think well deserved. The friendly porch is inviting for one wanting to enjoy the scenery in comfort, or sit a spell before dining.
