2013-09-19 - On Town Creek, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Mrs. Marcum enjoyed a beautiful September Day recently on the backporch she's made livable since arriving in Columbia, with some plants not quite out of reach of marauding ground hogs. It's also where she has coffee and talks to well-fed neighborhood cats who feign starvation to get an extra ration each day. Sometimes, she says, it takes a half hour gain the confidence of a cat. East Fortune Street neighbors tend to think it takes a village to raise a cat, which may be why some have reached World Record Book of Guinnesses qualifying dimensions.
