New at Farmers Market on the Square: Beard Family Farm

2013-09-14 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Chris and April Beard, whose farm is just east of the old Beard General Store on Liberty Road in Pellyton, were tending store for their son, Alec Beard today at their first appearance at the Farmers Market on the Square. The Beards plan to be at each FM2 until the close of the growing season around the end of October. Today they had Gourds of all kinds, tiny Cinderella pumpkins, and Connecticut Field Pumpkins, which are great for decorative purposes and excellent for cooking. Alec Beard, the owner of the business, took time off for Youth Soccer this morning at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. His parents said that he had just returned from a missionary trip to Mozambique. Farmers Market on the Square is open until 12pm noon CT, today, Saturday, September 14, 2013.
