The GR Kruzers RUN-devous has food on the way

2013-09-02 - 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Breakfast Shift at the Adair County Jaycees Food booth had breakfast well under way this morning before 7amCT, Labor Day, the day of the huge Green River Kruzers RUN-devous Car, Tractor, and Bike Show. Official start time for the free event is 8amCT. Above Fay Davidson, Jamie Hadley, and Harriet Hadley had biscuit baking before 7amCT to be ready for the big crowd expected today. At right, one of Fay Davidson's three Nu-Wave ovens has 15 biscuits baking and browning the way South Central Kentuckians like them. At around 11amCT, the ovens will see duty as BBQ grills. Steak will bake for some Cuban Salad - but may or may not be sold to the hungry, famished public - it's now owing to what mood they're in - but they may cave to public pressure, regardless. For sure there's breakfast in the morning, hamburgers and hot dogs in the evening, and hot and cold drinks all day. - EW
