Pyles Recycling: expanding firm is helping the environment

2013-08-15 - 221 Corporate Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Out of sight and seldom seen scene. Pyles Recycling is a busy and expanding environmental enterprise. Danny & Sandy Pyles believe that this year will see dramatic increases in their recycling business. This is a part of the "factory" area, where scrap wood is turned into bio-mass fuel. The semi being loaded is headed to Cox Interiors in Campbellsville, which will use the fuel to generate electricity for the plant. Other uses for the salvaged wood includes mulch for landscaping. The company is proving that being green is also a very good business model. That's what Danny Pyles is preaching as the company expands.
