Jamestown Street & Russell Road Intersection closed

2013-07-09 - Jamestown at Heskamp Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Columbia City Police and the Adair Search & Rescue are manning roadblocks at this point by United Citizens Bank on Jamestown Street, and are diverting traffic coming north at Hurt Street, and on Russell Road at the Circle R, at Glen Mary Street. The action was necessitated after a vehicle, police believe a semi or large truck, apparently hit the utility pole - seen to the right of the tall cell tower in the center of the photo - splintering it. Attachments to the pole have been removed. The intersection closure will remain until the the pole is removed and passage is safe. - EW
