A shady spot to bring a chair and sit

2013-06-24 - Historic Adair Co. Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. At almost every downtown event the mini lawn on the NE side of the Adair County Courthouse is claimed by an impromptu gallery to see the Green River Kruzers Cruise In. It was especially sought out because of the shade it afforded on a sweltering Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2013. All the available permanent benches around the Square had occupants, especially those in the 200 quadrant of the Square, which is 10-20 degrees cooler in the afternoons, shaded by the two story buildings. Over 35 vintage and specially customized vehicles were on hand, with a nice crowd. The one downtown business open reported steady to very busy traffic during the day.
