Epicurean Kentuckian: A bit of Vienna, in Columbia, KY

2013-06-12 - 212 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo from Cafe on the Square. The Cafe on the Square is having a soft opening this morning, with some pretty incredible new to Columbia foods. This is a rich, flaky crusted Apple Strudel, proclaimed superb by one of the first to sample manager Steve Chundy's creation - his unbiased father in law, Paul McEachren of Gradyville, KY. The restaurant reopened this morning under its original owner, Ellen Hingle, with Steve Chundy heading management. Townsfolk were busy visiting with the Hingles, and many of the Cafe on the Square's management from the last three years were there to wish the coffee shop well. At the outset, the cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch. The Cafe on the Square: Hours. Monday through Friday, 7amCT-3pmCT. Closed Saturday & Sunday.
212 Public Square, Downtown Columbia, KY. Non Smoking. Occasional audio. In Walking Distance of Lindsey Wilson College. 270-380-1004.
