It's almost blackberry time in Adair County

2013-05-31 - Rocky Hill Nursery, Columbia, KY - Photo by Beth Rutherford. It is almost blackberry time in Adair County. This picture taken at Beth Rutherford's house on Rocky Hill Road shows blackberries beginning to form on the vine. It looks like it is going to be a good year for the berries. Blackberry cobbler, blackberry jelly and jam and blackberry wine are definitely coming in the near future. Blackberries will be available at Farmers Market on the Square in a couple of weeks. Now you can get fresh lettuce, onions, cucumbers and much more delicious and fresh produce. The Farmers Market on the Square is open each Saturday morning 8am-12pmCT in the parking lot at the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Breakfast and lunch is available at the Market and also at two restaurants within a block and this weekend, food will be available at the 2nd Annual Book Fair in the Historic Adair County Courthouse at 500 Public Square, downtown Columbia, KY.
