History Quiz: Anybody know the year?

2013-05-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo from the collection of Mike Watson. A clue: It was likely before entertainer Roger Drake made Renfro Valley famous: Mike Watson discovered this beautiful old poster in his collection. The poster gives the location only as "The High School," so it may have been from the days when we called an operator at Southern Bell on Reed Street and told her simply, "I need Dr. Flowers, quick," and that was all one needed to get medical help, pronto. None of any of this "192-A" stuff. It may in the era of Columbia High School, it may be on into the Adair County High School era. The elementary information Mr. Watson wants, is the year, and with it, the high school. Use the Comments button to respond.
Don't forget: 2nd Annual Adair Co. Genealogy/History Book Fair, 10am-3pmCT/11am-4pmET
at Historic Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY
