Saturday proclaimed Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Day



2013-05-07 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo CM Staff Photo. Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton and Columbia Mayor Mark D. Harris signed a proclamation this morning at 9amCT, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, proclaiming Saturday, May 11, 2013, as "Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Day" in the City of Columbia and County of Adair. The drive is being conducted by staff and employees at the Columbia, KY, 42728 Post Office, and will benefit the Adair County Food Pantry. Standing, are Kendall LeFaivre, Supervisor and Ronnie Holt, Food Drive Coordinator, both with the USPS; Stephanie Long, Coordinator of the Adair Food Pantry; and Randal Murrell, Postmaster, Columbia, KY. On Saturday, Adair Countians are asked to leave canned goods and staples in strong containers beside rural mailboxes for carriers to pick up. Last year the drive brought in over 4000 pounds of food families in need in Adair County.
