Cyclist injured when thrown from bike on Jamestown Hiil

2013-04-26 - Jamestown & Guthrie Street intersection, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Traffic was held to one lane at a time for about 20 minutes at around 2:20pmCT, this afternoon, Friday, April 26, 2013, while EMS and Columbia Police Officers prepared a bicycle rider for transport to Westlake Regional Hospital. A bystander, Mr. Dudley, was first on the scene and said that the cyclist was riding on the sidewalk down Jamestown Hill and apparently hit the front caliper brake first and was thrown head-over-handlebars onto the pavement landing on the Guthrie Street pavement. Ofc. Josh Brockman said that he and Ofc. Drew Conn will have a report on the incident later. - Ed Waggener
