The Glens Fork Creek Bridge ceremony: Squire Sammy Baker

2013-04-05 - Photo by Ed Waggener. Nobody negotiated harder than Third District Magistrate Sammy Baker for the bridge widening project over Glens Fork Creek in the Zion Community. He recalled close calls on the narrow bridge which never resulted in deaths or injuries, but did mean a lot of mirrors were damaged in the near misses. At right is Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton, who also spoke at the Tuesday, April 2, 2013 ceremony. The view is from the bridge, looking north toward Columbia. Some at the event thought the bridge should be named for Mr. Baker.
