ACGC kicks off Downtown Prettification April 4, 2013

Barbara Armitage, left, Jane Grant, and Mary Knight of the Adair County Garden Club were considering ways to take out edge weeds around the Fountain Plaza brick wall and finally decided to nuke it, with just a little bit of herbicide. Today was the first Thursday this spring for the wonder workers to start their magical transformation of the flower beds around downtown. Mayor Mark D. Harris announced at the Monday, April 1, 2013, City Council meeting that City crews will start the Fountain as soon as the last freeze is past. The Adair County Garden Club wants everything to be ready for the first Farmer's Market on the Square which will be 8am-12pm noon CT, Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY
