Historian Mike Watson, above at the Adair County Public Library prior to the 2011 Silent City production in which he portrayed Columbia attorney Parker C. Hardin, is an Adair County native who has written several histories of Adair County. He now teaches history in Mercer County, KY, and maintains a home in Columbia, where, one day, he hopes to be Adair County's first Cemetery Commissioner, the only constitutional office Adair County does not currently fill. He's the author of the fascinating story published today, February 10, 2013, about the cholera outbreak of 1873. The photo was taken in the Genealogy Room at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, which serves, practically, as the writer's office when he is in Columbia - as he often is.
