Bell from Old Columbia High between roles

2013-01-20 - Adair School District Maintenance Building, 350 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Bell from the Old Columbia Graded and High School has been in storage at the Maintenance Building on the Adair County School District Campus. At left is the cradle for the bell assemble. The bell assembly itself is at right. The wheel is constructed with wooden spokes, and the rim has a complex construction. A rope windlass around the wheel was dropped to the first floor hallway at Columbia Graded from the bell's perch near the balcony of the school's auditorium.
