Christmas Saved: Santa Claus back at Ben Franklin (Barger Ins.)

2012-11-30 - Barger Insurance, 326 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Little kids from 40 up
who grew up in Columbia can rest in sweet slumber tonight, knowing that the Ben Franklin Santa is back in his rightful place on the Square in Columbia. From left above, are Stephen Keen, Tonya Loy, Ben Franklin Store Santa, and Vanessa Tucker in Barger Insurance Agency, which now occupies, with Major Jim Flowers' Edward D. Jones agency, the building which once housed every kids favorite Christmas Store, Ben Franklin. The Ben Franklin Santa was saved by James and Cora Renfro, who bought him in the variety store's auction and have carefully preserved him, and loaned the BF Santa Claus to Barger Insurance for the duration of the 2012 Christmas Season. A must see at Christmas in Columbia, Saturday-Sunday, December 1-2, 2012. Ed Waggener Full Schedule /Details Christmas in Columbia 2012
