Walnut Grove Bridge: Through a Happy Valley

The new Burns Creek Bridge connects this happy scene approaching a few of the dwellings in the Valley of the Hingles, to Chance, KY, on KY 1952, and KY 704 south of Fairplay. The bridge was the 16th in an ongoing, accelerated bridge building program in the administration of CJE Ann Melton. The area served, above, is a fast growing residential development, one Adair County School Superintendent, after a school business trip to study county roads and safety, called a Shangri-La. The yellow sign request slower speed, announcing, "We Love Our Children."
