2012-11-20 - Town Creek, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Malthus, The Town Creek Garter Snake Warden was hiding after finally giving up on a lunch of fresh snake, and hid momentarily before flying off to a higher perch. The decision had been several minutes in the making; the hawk had kept a wary eye on the photographer as it tried to finish dinner. In the end, it chose flight.
