Cundiff Post Office: Mail Carrier Preach Hoover, PM Emma Lloyd

2012-10-21 - Cundiff, Adair Co., KY - Photo from Daily Statesman.
Mike Watson, Adair County historian, has fond memories of Ms. Emma Lloyd. Outside his own parents, he says, Ms. Lloyd was one of his earliest memories. He found an article which appeared in the early 1970s in an old Columbia, KY, Daily Statesman newspaper with a photo essay about the little post office. Above, the Postmistress is pictured standing in the doorway of the post office, greeting mail carrier McKinley "Preach" Hoover. Longtime residents of the area will remember Mr. Hoover's familiar Ford pickup truck, above.
