Favorite Old Photo: VFW scene from 1970s

2012-10-15 - 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo from collection of Faye McKinley. Fay McKinley found this photo in her collection and shares a scene which has dramatically changed in the four decades since it was taken at the VFW Monument at the Adair County Fairgrounds. The minister standing before the monument was Rev. Jerry Klein, pastor of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. The circular drive was at what was then the home of the Elmer Bryant family and is now occupied by the Adair County Extension Office. The Hood home was just beyond, and has recently been razed.
