Scenic Adair Co., KY: Fall color on Hughes Road

2012-10-13 - Hughes Road, The Flatwoods, Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. If you're in the South of Adair County, KY, today the colors are somewhat more spectacular on new KY 61 South from The Flatwoods south. But Hughes Road off Wheeler Hill Road (used to be Burkesville Road, still the main street of The Flatwoods Business and Historic District) offers a slower paced step back in time look at Adair County, and with flecking of peak color for some species before nature's brightest palette of red, yellow, orange and evergreen autumn colors appear.
