2012-10-05 - The WAVE studio, Columbia, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. Russell County Superintendent Kenny Pickett left and Adair County Superintendent Alan Reed were live on 92.7 The Wave this morning, Friday, October 5, 2012. Pickett and Reed are working together on ideas for both districts. The two superintendents discussed budget cuts in both districts with cuts hurting the Russell County district even worse - 24 people lost their jobs this week in the Russell County School system. Superintendent Pickett said that he had shed tears over losing employees, saying that this has been the hardest week of his life. However with Adair County, Superintendent Reed said that School District is in better shape due the closing of two schools on the Adair County campus, a move approved by the Kentucky Department of Education, Division of Facilities. - Larry Smith
