History of manned Flight & Take-off - Columbia/Adair Co. Airport

2012-09-30 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
Seeing the Sunday, September 23, 2012 activity at the Columbia/Adair County Airport was a reminder that a party has approached us about an interest in writing a history of aviation in Adair County. Do you have photos or stories about the airports and landing strips, including Streeval International, LuDot, Plum Point, and Columbia/Adair County, or stories about great moments in aviation - especially about the last flight of Bobby Collins at Streeval, the prop start get fly away planes pilots miscalculated on, or remember the epic school board board race when Dr. Randall scattered the square with political flyers from his plane, or Billy Joe Anderson's last flights under the Plum Point Bridge, let us know, and we'll get them to the would-be historian - and find out whether it's all just big talk or not. - Ed Waggener
